The Colombo Friend-in-Need Society (CFINS), founded in 1831, is Sri Lanka's oldest charitable organization. It provides artificial limbs to individuals who have lost theirs due to landmines, accidents, or illnesses like cancer and diabetes. Through its Jaipur Foot Programme, CFINS has donated over 40,134 limbs since 1984. The society also offers mobile health camps for remote areas, free transit hostel services, rehabilitation support, self-employment programs, and education grants. CFINS organizes the AIDEX Sports Festival annually to encourage participation in various sports. The organization relies on donations and sponsorships to continue its impactful work.
